Nevada is the next stop on our state-by-state tour looking at how our public employees fared before and after the pandemic. Did something strong-armed into their lives do what it was purported to do, or not? You know what I am talking about.
If I am being honest, the members removed from rolls numbers and graph I have produced below are of the variety that put me on the fence a bit. Even though the pre-pandemic five year average, or “normal” as I sometimes call it, never comes back in the most recent fiscal years, the year to year increase is fairly steady. Are these above average peaks evidence of harm, or just to be expected … with or without some killer event?
But then again, I have included some screenshots showing unexpected mortality liabilities found elsewhere in the report. These show that the actuaries massively miscalculated how many members were going to die in the most recent fiscal year … a 17 million dollar swing in liabilities. The language on that table is hard to follow, but it is basically saying that the pre and post retired members lived shorter lives than expected.
When we examine the refunds due to death on the last tables below, take note of the significant figure for FY2023. This is well past the beneficial results phase of Operation Warpspeed.

It does appear that the leadership in Nevada instituted vaccine mandates on the state workers. The brunt of that action seems to have been felt by the health care workers and the corrections staff. Other state workers were given the option to skip the shot but had to get tested weekly. Thankfully those mandates ended in March of 2022.

Nevada to require COVID vaccines or weekly testing for state employees
July 27th, 2021
“Nevada plans to require state employees to either show proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly tests for the virus beginning next month as COVID metrics continue to worsen…
…Under the new policy, unvaccinated state employees will be required to undergo weekly testing until their workplace reaches at least a 70 percent vaccination rate, but will still be required to continue following mask protocols even if their workplace passes that threshold.”

We continue to see a substantial rise in mortality that correlates with the time of mass injections, a rise that remains elevated. Thanks for this latest report.
Good to see this. I don't doubt there are many heartbreaking stories from those who had been mandated.
